Rocks and Minerals

Geology is similar to other sciences in that it has some base concepts and everything is built off of those. In this case geology's base concept is mineralogy (the study of minerals). Which then leads to the study of rocks (petrology). Once understanding rocks you can move on the greater concepts like maps and structures and how different rocks influence the landscape.

Here we start with an overview of minerals as well as some of the more interesting facts in minerals. Once the main concepts are understood there, rocks become a little easier to explain.
